  • scruffy1, there are FREE woothemes (excellent themes!), FREE woocodex, FREE docs, and the woocommerce is FREE itself. You can learn everything without pay for it and can use for FREE, make webshop that works great, and you can make it without the understand of coding, php, css and the others. So, woocommere worth the 5 stars!

@jameskoster, indulge me. Is there any business reason behind offering this free plugin to WP users?

@uwhoosh of course. By making the core plugin free, the entire community can get involved by contributing bug reports / fixes and new features. It benefits everyone this way ??

let me clarify a items as I seem to have upset some people, this is not what i intended to do

    1) Woocommerce is amazing there are no doubts about that.

    2) I would buy more plugins / themes from woo if the prices were more competitive and the support forums where monitored on here

    3) I have bought around $300 worth of plugins via other developers who have helped with many issues I have had with woo, consequently I bought more plugins from them as I needed more, I have also bought two themes one from woo, which has now gone up in price so I bought a second different theme from a lower priced developer.

This is what I call good business, if as Uwoosh states these forums on wp are answered and help was available yes people will convert into buying plugins, but what you have to remember is a plugin on your site for $50 a similar one doing same job can be bought from developers for $20 this is where a lot of your conversions go, I cannot believe your conversion for plugins is as stated in previous comments is low, 700,000 downloads conversion for plugins I would expect to be around 300,000 people buying on average 1 theme and 8 plugins, yes development is important but so is looking after people with a little help, these people will think yes this is a progressive company offering free help i will buy a plugin or theme from them !

The wordpress forums are important as they are public and help a lot of new people and allow people to decide if a plugin is worth getting, i for one turn away from plugin with zero public help as it makes me wary.

    Simple business really

We’re going to make an effort to do a few posts a day here. Obviously we cannot spend lots and lots of time on .org as our paid customers get priority.

Your point #2 is still messed up though – as a paying customer, the forums here make absolutely no difference to you, as you get paid support via our ticket system. This will always have priority, and is better because we can request access to your store. Thats not an option on .org.

Woocommerce is amazing there are no doubts about that.

Your rating still doesn’t reflect this ??

tl;dr: I want a modern, actively developed, high quality e-commerce that does everything for me, and I also want it to come with premium support and extensions. But most importantly the plugin and the support needs to be free or very cheap, or I will complain about it publicly.

thats what reviews are meant for to allow the public to decide if to use the software or not, i had posted a support request on website and ended up closing it after two – three days after as not one person answered it !

Fstop, I have bought items from woo and they offer good support for them, but when you mention woocommerce it simply is like hitting a head on a brick wall, cannot get paypal to work correctly in 2.0.8 which effectively kills the software !!

mike my rating is purely down to customer service – if you went to a store you would expect reasonable customer service if they gave you a free coffee should they spit in it ? no if you buy a coffee should they treat you differently no it is all about simple respect and helping a future customer who might spend $1000’s with you. sorry but that is my thought

For hopefully the last time, if you’re a Woo customer and you’re having problems with WooCommerce, please post in our support desk.

I’d say this thread has run it’s course. Closing.
