• The plugin is pretty amazing and works extremely well according to my own experience. Now, there’s BIG catch: There is no RESTORE function in the free version ?? This may not appear as obvious at first. If you actually need anything you’ve saved, you will HAVE TO buy a PRO version.

You can see the free version as a free insurance as long as there is no problem and you don’t need it. The day there is a problem, you will need to pay.

EDIT: I was under the impression that you couldn’t restore without a pro version, but if you can do it manually (according to the answer just below), then it’s really not that bad. You can sure pay for convenience.
[Updated from 3 to 5 stars. 4 stars for the great plugin without an automatic restore function, but the answer below makes that a fifth start is probably deserved]

    Hi @mevo,

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review, much appreciated!
While it is true that the free version of BackWPup does not include a built-in restore feature, you can of course still restore your backups without buying the Pro version.
Full backups contain your entire WordPress install directory. Please take a look at our documentation to learn how to restore your backups with tools like Filezilla and phpmyadmin free of charge:

Please do not hesitate to reach out if there is anything we can help with.

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
