great backup plugin

This plugin makes backups very simple and painless. I have used the plugin on a dozen sites, some with different server configurations. For the most part it works flawlessly. The only time I had trouble with it was when I was trying to back up a site that was on a shared hosting server that was extremely overloaded (I was moving the site to a different server where it would perform better). Even then it did work after I changed some of the plugin settings to compensate for the limited server resources.

Copying sites to staging environments is another great feature of this plugin. It saves so much time and headache not having to worry about the hostname changing from one environment to another. Be warned, though, that when “restoring” a migration backup, the plugin does not delete old plugins already installed on the new WordPress instance. So to get a clean migration, start with a clean WordPress installation.

I started using this plugin because of its interoperability with MainWP. Regardless, it is my new go-to recommended backup solution for anyone running WordPress.
