Great alternative to what is currently available

  • Incremental backups seems to become the new way of backing up and it makes sense. Apart from the initial backup, future backups will be fast and from within the plugin it is possible to select files and folders to exclude in later backups.

    Support (via email) is quickly responding to issues and it seems the dev-team is open to and welcomes suggestions.

    I have it installed on a few sites already and will keep a close eye on the progress of this plugin.

    Just wondering how long it can remain free…

    Thank you for trying out WP Time Capsule and for giving us your feedback. It is indeed true that Incremental backups are the way forward!

    To clear up your doubts, WPTC is going the freemium route. The current set of features that you are using will continue to remain free for life. We intend on adding more premium features like Backup before Update, Website Rollback without losing changes, File change monitor, One click staging and so on. These will be the ones that will be charged while the free incremental backups will continue to remain free.

    We are in this for the long run and we hope WPTC can change the way the WordPress community looks at backups!
