Hi Samantha. If you check the session transcript in the Email Log, you will see that Postman does in fact use the Gravity Forms From Email and Reply To.

It’s Google who is changing your From Address and they do this to prevent spoofing.

(Spoofing is bad, it leads to phishing and people pretending they are someone who they are not)

I think if you sign up for SendGrid and use the SendGrid API instead, you will be able to forge the from address like how you want…. for now.

    Cheers!

    Hi Jason,

Thanks for the clarification. Will test with SMTP on emails that are not using gmail for their business.

Is there a way to show sender name instead of their gmail address?

    Thank you ??

AFAIK, Google does not alter the sender name.

bump… I guess Google has no intentions to make an alteration for this, well from perspective of spoofing its good but for functionality reasons on a website its not very useful ??

    EDIT:

Jason, now that I check again, Session Transcript it shows that “From” is set to blog’s mail instead of the email field that was filled by the user. Instead user’s mail is set on “Reply-To”
