• I’m building a site that is using Gravity Forms so users can submit posts via the front end. When users submit a post we want them to be able to add an image or a video. The image part is already built in to Gravity Forms, and now that we are using this “Featured Video Plus” plugin for the video. It works great if you add the URL from the backend, but my question is how we can let users add the video url from the front end using Gravity Forms and tie into this plugin for the featured video?

Gravity Forms does let you tie into the Custom Fields, but it doesn’t seem that this plugin uses the built in Custom Fields.

Let me know if you have some solutions. Thanks.

Well the plugin uses custom fields for saving the video information, but it saves more than just the plain url. When getting an url it actually does some processing for retrieving meta information and the video thumbnail.

But probably it would be useful to enable users to just save a plain url which then is processed the first time the video is required on some page – which then would maybe be the post preview in your case. This is not implemented at the moment and implementing some custom solution would require quite some tinkering I guess.

That would very useful and expand this plugins capabilities.

Do you think this is something you’d consider for a future release? [Moderator note: Please don’t solicit work from these forums]

    Let me know. Thanks.

Yes I am planing to include this in the next release – but I cannot give you a ETA just now.

I am not sure what exactly was removed by the mod there.. But always feel free to buy me a drink ??
