    Hi1
let me start thanking you for such an excellent plugin.
It has saved my site since I installed it
    thanks a lot!

Recently I noticed that the forms submitted using Gravity forms are being marked as spam so for some reason gravity forms is not generating the post (draft).
This started happening about 1 week ago.
    It was working fine before.
Not sure but I guess it has to do with a rencent WP-spamshield update.

    Any suggestions?

    thanks a lot!

    teacdan,

Thanks for getting in contact with us, and allowing us to help you fix this issue.

For anyone else reading this, we figured out what was causing the issue, and is fixed in version 1.9.0.4.

Sorry to say that WP-Spamshield Version 1.9.5.7 and Gravity Forms 1.9+ are at odds again.

Deets: Multi-site installation, WPEngine (non shared)
Combo works fine in staging environment, but shuts down submissions on the live site with the following error:

“ERROR: Sorry, there was an error. Please be sure JavaScript and Cookies are enabled in your browser and try again.”

Our last successful form submission was July 28. We had no issues prior to August so it has to be the latest updates.

    Sidenote:
Strangely, if you’re logged into the site, the forms submit, fire off notifications and the entry is recorded.

    Additional Testing:
Installed Spamshield on a non-multisite that also uses Gravity Forms. Form submissions also failed.

Disabling Spamshield takes care of the problem.

We LOVE Spamshield and thank you for your hard work. Will keep an eye out for new updates.

    Hi PXMstaff,

I’m sorry to hear about the issues you’re having, but I’ll be happy to help.

Gravity Forms has been tested to work well with the latest versions, including 1.9.5.7, so it’s likely there is another conflict in play…something more specific to your setup and combination of plugins.

We’ll be happy to look into it and help you fix the issue.

I’ll need a bit more info from you on the specifics, and we’ll need to email back and forth, so please head over to the WP-SpamShield Support Form (our main support channel), and take a moment to fill out a support request. That will allow us to take care of this as quickly as possible for you (and anyone else who is experiencing the same issue).

To help you as a temporary fix in the mean time, I have good news…there is no need to disable the entire plugin…there is an option in the settings to disable Gravity Forms anti-spam. Also, if you haven’t had a chance to yet, please take a few minutes to work through the Troubleshooting Guide and FAQs as these tend to help resolve most user issues.

Regarding the issue going away while you’re logged in…it doesn’t test logged in admin users, as there is no need to.

Thank you for the great feedback. ?? We will keep working hard to keep spam out of your site.

    Hi PXMstaff,

We did some more testing with version 1.9.5.7 and 1.9.5.8 to see if we could find any issues with the Gravity Forms submissions. In most variations of the forms we didn’t find any issues, including with and without AJAX. However we did find one issue that we weren’t aware of, and that hadn’t been reported yet. It was specifically with the combination of multi-page forms, when the “Enable AJAX” option was selected the page would hang when proceeding to the second page. It was clearly a JavaScript conflict. (Multi-page forms without that option selected were fine, and single page forms with and without that option were fine.) We zeroed in on the issue, created a fix, and will have an updated version out shortly.

Just wanted to give you a heads up in case that was your specific issue.

    Version 1.9.5.9 was just released.

Wait, what? I’m glad there’s a fix for the multipart forms issue (and I’ll try that out post haste), but I had used your website’s contact form to submit that issue on behalf of a client about 3 weeks ago… somewhere between August 8-10.

I had to have them switch to a different antispam plugin in the meantime so their form would work, but finding out that you never got my report on the problem (with many details and the test form you could try out the problem on) is a bit of a concern.

On their multipart form, it wouldn’t hang on the second page, it would proceed just fine through a varying number of pages, but hang on the final page, when the submit button was clicked, and at the time, disabling the email harvester option did not resolve it.

I will contact them to see if they want to test out the fix and see if it works for them… thanks!

    Hi Summer,

Yes, the issue is fixed. I’m sorry to say we never received a support request from you on our site. I checked through the logs as well (anything submitted is logged even if blocked) and there was nothing like that in the logs from Aug 7-14. Is it possible that you submitted on another site?

I’m really sorry that you waited so long for a a response…we would never keep you waiting like that. It must have seemed like were were ignoring you. (Which we would never do.) If you submit a support request with us, you will hear from us within a few hours to 1 day at the most. To be sure, in the future, make sure you submit your support request here: WP-SpamShield Support page.

Yes, feel free to have them test out the new version. They should be good to go.

Let us know if we can help with anything else.
