    (@saschinger)

Hello and good day to you ??
I have installed and activated your plugin on a fresh site and left the checkbox in Dashboard > Settings > Discussions > Avatar Privacy ” Gravatar-Bilder standardm??ig anzeigen.” unchecked.
Then I have added few comments using my 2 mail-addresses which are connected with my Gravatar-Account and checked “Ein Gravatar-Bild neben meinen Kommentaren anzeigen.”.
So now I was expecting that my Gravatar would be displayed, but that’s not the case.
Anything else I need to consider?
    Thank you and kind regards,
    Sascha

Hi @saschinger, are these perchance non-logged-in comments, but using email addresses that are associated with a WP user account?

If so, you’ll need to enable “Allow logged-out comments with my profile picture” in the users profile. This is a safe-guard to prevent identity spoofing.

Though the behavior described can be triggered by using user email address for logged-out (anonymous) commenting, it might also be related to a bug concerning the change in default comment_type in WordPress 5.5 from the empty string to comment. I thought I had taken the change into account before releasing 2.4, but apparently not actually committed the code *oops*. Thank you for reporting this!

Hi @saschinger, can I help you in any other way? (I see from the demo site that the gravatar opt-in is now saved as expected.)

I assume the issue has been resolved, @saschinger. Please feel free to open a new topic if you have more questions regarding Avatar Privacy.
