Hi, I am setting up a new blog and using gravatars for the first time. I have my own gravatar set up and it is working on other sites, but when I post a test comment on my new blog, it keeps using the default gravatar for me. In the cached gravatars, it does show my gravatar and it shows “1 Comment”. I have a total of 6 comments so far, and they all show the default, even after hard refreshing.

I am using a Gemini Black theme. Any ideas of what I need to look at to correct this? (The site is currently behind a password since I’m not done with it, so I can’t provide a link here.)

  • Did you just sign up for a gravatar with the email address you used on your test comment? It takes a short while for the gravatars to get approved.

No I signed up a couple days ago. I double checked that to make sure. I logged into gravatar to check that it was rated and ready to go. I posted a comment elsewhere to check it, and it worked there. I also double checked my profile to make it was set up with the same email. I also logged out and posted a comment with just name and email to check if it was a logged in problem, and still the default.

Have you tried clearing the gravatar cache?

Ok, I just did that. Could that have deleted my default, because it’s gone now? Not showing up and now coming up 404. Not showing my other one either. I’ll have to reupload the default when I get home.

This appears to be a problem with the GeminiColored themes. I should have read the comments on the site first! I have it working fine now, using the comments.php from skippy’s site.
