Gravatar question: Allow registration for display?

    Dumb question here. If I want to use Gravatars on my site, do I have to allow people to register for them to show up in the comments?

    I like the idea of Gravatars, but I currently have registration off, and would like to keep it that way.

    i’m pretty sure they would need to be users since they would need to be logged in in order to have different/individual gravatars
