Granting stream publishing, reading, and offline access privledges in Facebook

Resolved by poster. What I did to get the necessary permissions was to do the Check privileges link. The resulting report shows the status of your privileges. If privileges are not granted, click the re-grant permissions link, a Facebook panel appears allowing you to set permissions. Upon rechecking permissions my permission were all granted (yes). It seems like you don’t need do anything in Facebook’s admin and the permissions can be setup within WPBook’s admin. I wish this was better documented by WPBook, as it was a complete mystery to me as a Facebook avoider.

On the page which results from clicking the “checking permissions” link we’ve tried to lay out the problem and how to fix it:

To correct any of these, Grant or re-grant permissions for your userid. (This is required if you intend to publish to your personal wall OR any fan pages.)

How else would you suggest we document it?

The one aspect of the permissions step that has tripped me up is that I need to be logged into Facebook as the appropriate user to be able to grant permissions.
I maintain a couple of WP sites and took it took a few tries to remember to coordinate with the FB user even though I’d set myself up as an admin for the FB app.

Are you logged into the Facebook account as an admin user? I think this is required, maybe John can confirm this. You should see a centered Facebook panel that allows you to Grant permissions. Keep trying, this plugin is not an easy configuration.

Yep, I’m an admin user for the app and the Facebook page I’m trying to stream the content to. I see the centered Facebook panel but only have the message that’s supposed to appear ??

I’ve even upgraded to the latest WP version (3.2.1), but still no luck.

What is the url of your blog outside FB, and what is the url of your FB app?

What do you have set as the canvas callback url?

When you say you “don’t see anything on the Grat or re-grant permissions Facebook page” what do you mean? Just a blank white page, with no content?
