Grant access by IP without needing first to be a subscriber

  • Hi, can this plugin let me assign a group of IP addresses and grant anyone using them automatic access to a member area but keep out those coming from IP addresses not on the list of those approved? Those not approved would still be able to view the public part of the site.

    I would like to allow visitors in by IP and avoid them having to sign up or use user/passwords.

    I am trying to avoid an htaccess file to do this as I want some parts of the site to remain public but some to be private and I don’t have access to Apache on my shared server.

    Hi Peterash, nope, received no reply to my question. I solved the problem by getting my hosting company to use htaccess restrict one directory within my site to a white list of IPs. Because I’m on a shared server I can’t get root access to do it myself or I’d risk crashing Apache and making all shared sites on that server unavailable. Not sure if this is any help to you.
