    Dear Mr. or Ms.,

Currently there is a tiny legal issue which is related to the German market only.

Regarding the express checkout button it is recommended to add the following text:
    – Kaufen (“buy”)
    – Kostenpflichtig bestellen (“buy for a fee”)
    – Zahlungspflichtigen Vertrag abschlie?en (“conclude a contract for a fee”)

If this is not implemented an online store could receive a legal warning letter (means paying at least a couple of hundreds of euros).

Is there a way e.g. a php snippet to implement such a short text into the express checkout button?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Kind regards,
    Max

  • Hi @mexxez,

This is very interesting! There is not a way to edit the text in the express checkout button with the Stripe plugin with WooCommerce. I would reach out to Stripe directly and let them know of your concerns, they should be able to address them and ensure compliance.

If you have any other questions or concerns please let us know!

    Hi @mexxez,

The Payment Request buttons can be changed to a Custom Button option in **WooCommerce > Settings > Payments > Stripe** to allow for the custom text to be added to the buttons. More on that is at this link.

This should provide the solution for entering the custom text that is required for the German market. Customizing the buttons’ look (color, placement) can be done via CSS with these guidelines.

If you have further questions let us know!
