That error is actually due to the fact that you haven’t enabled GPay in your Braintree control panel. You need to login to your Braintree Sandbox account and enable GPay. That will resolve that error.
I am sorry for the silly question, When you say control panel are you referring to the WordPress Braintree panel or the sandbox Braintree account (https://sandbox.braintreegateway.com/)
If it’s WordPress then yes I have enabled it.
If it’s https://sandbox.braintreegateway.com/ then I don’t see any ‘enable’ button for gay.
