    Did you update the plugin?

Never mind. I just got word from my host that they did it because my site was getting bot attempts to bridge security. But, I thought this plugin was supposed to prevent that. Ugh.

They installed the plugin? It will help for that, but before you update WP, you need to update the plugin. If something goes wrong, remove the plugin from your plugins folder, log in through wp-login.php and install the plugin again.

I installed the plugin awhile back. I didn’t realize that I needed to update that plugin first. There were four updates there and I did the wordpress one first. Didn’t see if yours was one of them. Well, I hope my host tech guys get in me back in quickly… Thank you!

I just tried updating from WP 3.9.2 -> WP 4.0 with the old plugin installed. While I was logged out, I could still go back to the login url I renamed to log back in. That worked fine. And then update to the new version. Updating to WP 4.0 will always log you out, with or without the plugin installed. The login form between WP version is always slightly different, that’s why is always best to update the plugin first. I just released it when 4.0 came out this morning.

    Hi Guys,

Have the same problem – i installed the plugin but it told me i needed to update my wordpresss before it would activate so i did – now i can’t log into my admin panel at all!!!

I haven’t used the plugin yet as it wouldn’t let me so i have no idea how to log into my site/i haven’t changed the log in url yet – having a bit of a panic if anyone can help me?

Just keeps telling me ” You must log in to access the admin area”
