I just bought the domain name for my videomaking group and was prepared to make a WordPress blog for it. However, after signing up with InMotion Hosting, i got to my cPanel and realized i may be tech-savvy enough but i don’t know a damn thing about Web Building. I used Fantastico to get it installed but don’t know how to proceed after that. I’m just a humble filmmaker working from scratch, can anyone help me out please?

Once you have WordPress installed, login to your blog and you should see your Dashboard. From there, you want to look at some of the basic settings, try creating a sample post, and go from there. If you have any specific questions on how to do something, go ahead and post it.

Ah, well, i got it installed but i have no idea how to access it. I can’t even figure out how to set it as my homepage. How do get that working? Right now the site’s homepage is just the Placeholder my host put there.

What you want to do is find out if you installed it on your main home page or did you enter a folder when you installed it (like “blog).

For example, if your home page is https://www.test.com, is that where the blog was installed or was it installed at https://www.test.com/blog?

Here is a Youtube video that shows you how to access your blog’s login page:

Ah, i see. I looked into it and I did enter the folder, so i wanted to see if i could change it to my homepage, I followed the steps from the first result of that google link above, but i had to remove it first. I deleted the database like the removal instructions said, but i don’t know how to remove the Fantastico file. I probably messed up along the line somewhere here, but how do i delete the fantastico file so i can reinstall wordpress?

p.s. the YouTube was very helpful. i’ll remember that for next time.
