Got an extremely big-sized error_log file

    Hi there,

    this morning when I was trying to upload some media to my web, my FTP Client kept saying the upload cannot be executed as it experienced too many retries. I tried logging in to my cPanel and found the horrible truth: I have used up the whole disk space. Aghast, I searched through the directories, trying to find which files that cost so much disk space. I found this error_log file. It consumes 150 megabytes. What is this big-sized error_log? I have googling up and down the web and found PHP codes guidance which I don’t really understand. It has no extension so I can’t open it to figure out myself. Is it safe if I just delete it? What’s its function? It simply can’t be there on my web forever! It consumes almost 75% of my dis space!

    uhh, its a log .. of errors.

    It logs .. errors.

    I don’t really understand. It has no extension so I can’t open it to figure out myself.

    You open it with a text editor, its a log.. of errors.

    If you want to delete it, do so. It will come back, so long as PHP encounters errors. Ask your host if you are able to turn off PHP error logging in your .htaccess.

    haha… alright, I know my questions seem a bit silly. So your point is, I can just delete it and no harm will happen?
