    Hi!
I’m running 7.6.3.1. I wanted to put a live page into draft mode so I could revise it. I would change to draft, try to save, and got a 404. Nothing special about the page at all, really.

I started disabling plugins, and after doing a few, you guys came up as the culprit! After disabling SEO Ultimate, the page could be easily put in draft or publish mode, and no 404. What’s weird is that I was able to “draft” some pages, and switch to published just fine.

Any thoughts about that? Any help appreciated.

    Thanks, Dave

Looking into that now Dave! So, page was live, then you wanted to save as draft correct, wasn’t a draft page to begin with?

    Hi Dave:

We are trying to recreate on this side and have not been able to recreate.

    Page draft updated… no errors
Tried saving new as a draft, nothing…

Any additional insight (e.g other plugins, perhaps security related) are a start (or if it’s SEO Ultimate) then we will fix it.

    Let me know.

    Thanks,

    Jeffrey

    Jeffrey,
Thanks for your attention to this. Yes, exactly, it was a page that had been live. And I hear you, as a dev myself, because it usually works it’s pretty much a nightmare to track down. It may even be coincidence.

I get the 404, then try the “back” button. Then I get “The backup of this post in your browser is different from the version below…”. Instead, I just went back in via main admin link, and it at least took my page edits. So it seems to save, but cannot change published status. It’s an edge case, I guess. It could even be my browser, I suppose.

For giggles, I disabled a security plugin, no difference. Tried another browser, same dreck. Who knows, maybe an errant transient (you guys have some whoppers!), but I had cleared those, too.

I suppose that it could be another plugin fighting with yours during the save process. Not important enough to worry about, just a little thing that drives you nuts. ??

    Thanks again, Dave

    Thanks Dave:

We will put this on the watch list, so, keep us posted if you find any other issues.

    All the best,

    Jeffrey
