Google’s Places API

Google API Error: Your Google API Key is not valid for this request and permission is denied. Please check your Google API Key.

@newzealandnz Unfortunately, Google Places API only returns data when there is a billing account attached. I’ll send through the details you’ll need to add this if you need assistance. Fortunately, this plugin uses very few requests, so it’s completely free to use.

@newzealandnz Since the first version of the plugin, I’ve downplayed the populate from Google My Business because once this is setup – you can just use Structured Data to inform Google My Business of your opening hours. It’s better to inform GMB from the website rather than the reverse.

If you’re unsure about linking your own Google Cloud account with your billing details, simply set this up and then switch the API Key a month or so down the line.

Okay finally got all the Google stuff done billing set up for a customer and a API in place, does that mean that I just need to wait for Google to update the hours on Google my business automatically?

@newzealandnz The Google Places API will populate the opening hours from Google My Business when you press the “Populate from Google My Business” button.

I strongly recommend using Structured Data to present the current opening hours to Google (and Google My Business) so they will keep current and accurate opening hours in your listing there.
