I woke up this morning to find my website not listed on Google! It appears Wordfence was blocking Googlebots from crawling my website. I haven’t made any recent changes to the Wordfence configuration so I don’t know why this suddenly happened. I had to turn off rate limiting and do a Fetch as Google/Request Indexing to get my site back on Google. Has anyone else experienced this?

    Hi,

I have seen several people accidentally block Googlebot as they didn’t fully understand the advanced custom blocking options, so that may be the cause here too.

Please look through any custom advanced blocks you have created and see if you have accidentally blocked Googlebot there. If you are not sure what to look for then delete all custom advanced blocks you have created.

Once you have found or cleared all custom advanced blocks then enable the option “Enable Rate Limiting and Advanced Blocking” again and do a fetch as Google request from your Google Search Console account and see if that is now resolved.

    Thank you.

    Hi @jonpiehl,
Since we haven’t heard from you for a while I’m going to go ahead and resolve this thread. You are welcome to create a new one at any time!
