GoogleAnalytics code is still on some WP Pages
-
Hi guys,
I have a problem with GoogleAnalytics (GA) in WordPress(WP).
1) I installed GA with a plugin
2) After a time I uninstalled the Plugin and inserted the code manually on the header.php
3) Recently I wanted to migrate/convert to implementation via GoogleTagManager(GTM) – I deleted the code which I added manually before and included GA via GTM.So far so good. After validating in the GA Dashboard and the GTM Addon for Chrome I saw that some of the pages of the WP website give me 2 and 3 pageviews instead of 1.
Next step was to disable GTM again, and as expected it showed me for some pages 0, 1 or 2 pagevies. So I digged deeper with gachecker.com and looked at the source code via the GTM Addon for Chrome:
– Result of gachecker.com: Same as explained before (0,1 and 2 identified GA codes)
– Validation with source code: Found the GA code in the header section of the sites like that: `<!– Custom CSS –>
<script>(function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i[‘GoogleAnalyticsObject’]=r;i[r]=i[r]|| …`It is really frustrating since I want get rid of all that code and do it solely via GTM. Has anybody an idea of how I can get rid of this code, since I can’t access the header of single pages in WP?
Many thanks in advance and sorry for the long post.
Cheers
