Thanks for reaching out @frits14. It sounds like there is something either a host level or with your plugin environment blocking communication between your site and the Site Kit service. So we can determine more on this, please share the following:

    1. Your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred.
    2. Do you see any warnings or errors when checking yourSite Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status), which differs from your Site Health information requested above? Such errors may include REST endpoint references.
    3. Have you been able to set up Site Kit on this site previously, or on any other sites on the same hosting platform?

Once we have the above we can advise on this further. Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

I can see that this error occurs on every website that im hosting.. I think it is a hosting issue. Do you know what could be wrong? I’ve added the site health information of one website that is showing the error.

Appreciate you sharing the additional information @frits14. And I suspect you are correct with regards a possible hosting related block. As it looks like you are managing your own hosting, can you perform the below cURL commands, which can help indicate whether this is a block specific to IPv6?

    curl -4 -I https://sitekit.withgoogle.com
The above will check the status if communication over IPv4
    curl -6 -I https://sitekit.withgoogle.com
The above will check the status if communication over IPv6

If there is a block, I suspect this will be over IPv6 only, with a 500 error. If you can share the responses to the above checks I can then check this further with the team. Please also share the IPv6 address for the site you shared via your Site Health information, as I couldn’t determine any AAAA record for this site from various lookups.

Note also that if you wish, you can temporary disable IPv6 at host level to check can you complete setup on this same site.

Hi there, there isnt a ipv6 enabled on this domain. Actually on none of the domains Im hosting. I’ve only activated a Ipv4

Appreciate the update @frits14. In that case, can you perform the below command and share the results?
    curl -6 -I https://sitekit.withgoogle.com

If you could also share the below this may help indicate a site level issue:

    • Do you see any warnings or errors when checking your Site Health status (Tools > Site Health > Status), which differs from your Site Health information which you previously shared?

So you want me to run the command and after that check if the warnings or errors are different as before?

Also I dont know where to run that command. The server is being managed by another company. I dont think I have the rights to perform commands.
    Is there another way?

So you want me to run the command and after that check if the warnings or errors are different as before?

Running the command won’t make any change to whether you can complete Site Kit setup. It’s a check at host level to see can your host communicate with the Site Kit service. It will result in a 200 (success) or 500 (failure) error.

I understand if you’re unsure on how to run this command, as it requires access to the web terminal or SSH. If you wish, you can check with your hosting provider.

    Is there another way?

We’re still awaiting your Site Health status which can help indicate any WordPress REST related issues, which Site Kit (and many other plugins) depend on (Tools > Site Health > Status). Please share this for one of your impacted sites.

To help determine that what you’re facing is host related, you may also wish to confirm that you encounter no problems setting up Site Kit on this temporary site.

Let me know if you have any questions with the above.

Here is Site Health status: https://imgur.com/a/gwbZL7l

also Ive succesfully setup Site Kit on the temporary site.

@frits14 Thank you for sharing the Site Health Status. There isn’t anything here that stands out as an issue that would cause this. The fact that you can setup on the temporary site would indicate that this is either a conflict with one of your plugins on your site or indeed a host level issue.

Just to rule out any conflict, you can run through the troubleshooting steps here which would highlight any such conflicts if there are any. If you spot no conflicts here then let me know.

With this being a possible hosting issue it’s difficult for us to check this. If possible it would be very useful to run the command James mentioned above to check if there’s an issue with your ipv4. Would it be possible for you to contact the people running your server to ask if this check could be performed?

I’m just following up with you to check whether the error remains @frits14 ? If so please share the information requested above and we can investigate further.

As we didn’t receive a response I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist.
