• Hi guys,

I’ve run into a problem and I figured you guys would be the best to help answer my question.

Why isn’t google indexing my site?

    https://ensmith.com

It’s been sent to Google and I have webmasters, as well as all the other necessary stuff, SEO, Analytics etc.

Is it due to having a lot of lorem ipsum fake text as placeholder that’s causing this?

Or is it a plugin? there’s a lot on there!

Many thanks, hope you can help! ??
    Adam.

  • Google does indeed index it. Search Google for
“site:” followed immediately by your URL.

    Google does index your site.
    See Here

… or is that all from an older version of the site?

How long has it been since you launched the site?

Seeing that Google’s cached copy of your home page is 3 days ago, and seeing that it’s different from your current home page, it’s likely that Google just hasn’t gotten to crawling your site yet. Give it time. It might take a few weeks.

Considering you have a lot of “lorem ipsum”, though, I’m not sure why you would want Google to index the site at this point.

You can force it to crawl your site if you made a lot of changes. You would do this through your webmaster tools

If you have lorem ipsum text on your site what the heck do you expect Google to do with it? Google crawls your site and READS the content in order to categorize your site and place it in the search results. If you have no relevant content Google will put you in the trash.

I think it’s indexed it but it’s not coming up when I search ‘ensmith’ which is strange to me, thanks for all the help though guys.
