Google webmaster tools has blocked https://analytics.shareaholic.com

I forgot to mentioned that I have contacted shareaholic and Google about 2 days ago and now awaiting response.

Blocking resources from bot crawling is a technique used to prevent indexing areas that should not be indexed. In our case, we recently added a robots.txt to analytics.shareaholic.com to block all robots from accessing it, so as to proactively block the Google search bot (and others) from inflating your Shareaholic Analytics numbers, since they’re not really legitimate “human visits”.

This is not an error and does not effect your site’s Google Rank in any way.

Based on this note from Google:

Webmaster Tools attempts to show you only the hosts that you might have influence over, so at the moment, we won’t show hosts that are used by many different sites (such as popular analytics services)…

Google should not be showing analytics.shareaholic.com in the first place. We’ll work with them on this.

I completely understand what you just said but it doesn’t stop the fact that my website isn’t even ranked in Google and I submitted it about 2 and half weeks ago and the problem just came up.

I know for a fact the website isn’t ranking in Google at because I’m using a separate tool to track all my websites and I can’t find it without putting in the actual website url. All I know is they are blocking 6 pages and they are the one which have SEO on them.

Is there a way to resolve my problem or anything you suggest?

A quick update here – we made some updates that should resolve the Google Webmaster Tools “blocked resources” issue!

Did this end up solving the problem? I’m still getting the error in webmaster tools / search console. Would updating shareaholic plugin fix it?

@leonardinha Google really shouldn’t try to crawl that… and it makes no difference to your SEO, but we’ll unblock that API just to appease them ??
