  • Hi @jess2716 thanks for opening a support topic. I would be happy to help you with this if you could please provide your Site Health Information. You can share this information using our private form.

This is likely being caused by a plugin conflict so once you provide the information I can check your setup and installed plugins and highlight any that may be the cause here.

    Sent – thanks! ??

@jess2716 Thanks for sharing. I can see you have several active plugins so as mentioned I suspect there is a conflict somewhere. Could you please first try temporarily deactivating the WP Rocket and WP Optimize plugins and checking your Stories once more for AMP validation errors.

Thank you for this. So I see the errors in Google Search Console – which usually takes a few days (at least) to show when errors go away. Is there a way to check immediately within the Stories plugin?

I ask because these WPRock and WPOptimize are plugins I do regularly use and wouldn’t want to get rid of.

    Thanks!

@jess2716 Yes of course, you can check for any AMP validation errors immediately using the AMP validator tool. Just input your Story URL and this will return if you have any validation errors. You will need to run the Story URL through each time after temporarily disabling the plugins suggested.

I appreciate that you don’t want to remove these but if we do find a conflict we can try to pinpoint it to a particular setting in the plugin which you can then discuss with the plugins support team about if needed.

@adamdunnage Good morning! So I deactivated the plugins and cleared my cache before running the test; however, the error is still there.

Any other ideas what may be causing the issue?

    Thanks!

    -Jessie

@jess2716 Hello there! The validation errors are due to The mandatory attribute ‘poster’ missing in tag ‘amp-video’. This means that the videos on the story do not have poster images that are required.

Could you please remove each videos from the story and re-add them? Then check the “Style” tab > Accessibility to ensure an image has been generated. You can click into the pencil to select a poster image for the video if one was not generated.

Once done save/publish the story once more and run the story URL through AMP validation. Let me know if that clears the errors. If so, you will need to do this for any stories with these errors.

@jess2716 Since we haven’t received a response this topic will be marked as resolved. Please feel free to reopen this topic if the issue persists or create a new support topic for new issues. Thank you!

Sorry for the delay! I’d like to reopen this ticket.

So when I check some of the stories it appears they already have this poster image. Here is an example of one of the web stories showing the error:

    Any other ideas? Thank you!
