• Hi All,

I recently went through the indexing process for Google and Bing.

I installed the most popular SEO plugin in WP and did some optimization.

Some pages are rated green by the plugin. Others are rated yellow, orange and red.

When I search for my site in Bing, the home page is at the top of the search (Pg 1, item 1). In Google, the homepage is nowhere to be found, but one of my other site pages appears in the search at the top of page 3.

Is Google indexing really that difficult? What am I doing wrong? Do I have to have all pages rated green in SEO before Google will put my site homepage at the top of their search?

    Thanks,

    cmeister

  • SEO is a very complex, every changing process. If it was just a matter of creating content, and “bam!” you are number one in Google, everyone would be number one.

Now, the SEO plugins will help you organize your content to maximize your SEO score, so making sure the SEO is optimized to a “green” light will help. However, Google uses more than just well organized content – they look at things like your site’s social network connections, your site’s content connection to other sites, how often content is updated, etc… I recommend you spend some time Googling the term “SEO best practices” to learn more about SEO.
