Google Unverified App Warning

    I’m not sure when this problem manifested, social login had been working fine with Google for a while but now users are shown a warning that the app for my website is not verified and they should only log in if they know the developer. Anyone else encountering this? The only thing I can think of that changed is the closure of Google + but not sure if it’s related?

    I did follow instructions to attempt to verify and received a message that it can take 6-7 months and also that I shouldn’t need to verify my app for what I need it for. So I’m quite confused how to not verify and not have this issue.

    Is there a better way to get support on this? I’m losing customers that would login via Google as a result of this issue ??

    Well, I guess the benefit of no support is learning how to do it yourself! In case others come across this issue, I did manage to resolve it. On github, they have an unreleased branch (3.0.1) that moved away from using the Google Plus API to HybridAuth. Replacing my files with these updates solved the issue for me and I no longer have users being warned that they should only login if they know me personally.

    What files exactly should be replaced? I tried replacing all files from there and it broke the site. Please let me know. Im having the same issue. Thanks.

    Could you let me know which files have been exchanged? I have changed a few files related to Google in the 2.3.3 plugin version but it is still not functioning.
