    Most likely that’s because the theme you’re using is not fluid. Words length vary depending on the language and that may alter the overall layout.

    If you have the knowledge, you can modify the styling of the theme; or contact the theme’s author.

    How do I reduce the spacing between the drop down combo box and ‘Powered by Google Translate’ text?

    You can set the bottom margin to 0 using the .goog-te-combo selector.
