    Hi there,

I’m wondering if you have any idea of where the star rating is coming from in the Google snippet created when searching for reviews from my site.

    cardiffreview.com

Not sure if the link I shared is working but if you search for “the caretaker doon arbus the cardiff review” you’ll see a 1-star rating, and that’s the same with all reviews. There’s no star rating involved when creating the reviews, so I’m confused where that’s being pulled from.

    Thanks!

    Jamie

    Hello @gillinghamjamie

The plugin (and Google) defaults to the lowest review score, 1 in this case because I used a 5 star system, when a review is attached to a book and no review score is provided.

If you are no assigning review scores to your reviews it would be best to disabled the review JSON-LD schema mark up on the plugin’s settings page under the “Advanced” tab.

Before I add a new book, I enable the star rating box on Recencio SETTINGS/COMPONENTS page.

I enter the star value and publish the review.

After publishing the review, I return to the SETTINGS/COMPONENT page and uncheck the star rating box.

The Google search will now return the star value I entered, even though that is not shown on the review.
