Google Sitemap not Writing

I searched and couldnt find any sort of help with this so here goes:

I updated to 2.04 and from that moment on google site maps plugin by Arne did not write to the sitemap.xml in my root. I also checked Google sitemaps tool and it said I have a problem with the sitemap.xml but could not figure out what. Also when I post and the sitemap plugin is activated, I cant erase a post and it doesnt show on the xml. Ive tried his 2.71 version, which works fine on my other site that isnt updated to 2.04, and it was no different than the 3.01b version. Ive seen a few posts on the net about this but never a reply on if/how to solve it. It’s actually a problem for me that I must resovle because I need google to see all my pages naturally, not just the latest rss.
