Google Site Kit – adsense

Dear WordPress,

I′ve been having trouble with connecting AdSense to my Site Kit plugin. Whenever I try to connect, it just stays stuck at “locating accounts” and nothing else happens.

I′ve created my Adsense account, however, I can′t do much with it since it only says to put the ad code into my page.

Am I right when I was thinking that I can skip this step by installing the Site Kit plugin? Or do I still have to insert the code to my page?
