    Hi
Although I see my TSF-Description in the source of a post, Google shows the excerpt as description in the search results. The theme is Enfold.
Any ideas how to fix this.
    Thank you.

    Hi @un1verse,

Google crawled your homepage fewer than 2 hours ago.
Is the description still incorrect in your opinion? I ask this because from what I see everything’s in sync.

Note that the homepage has two description input fields. The SEO Settings’ page’s field has precedence over the in-post field.

    Cheers! ??

    Hi Sybre

    Thank you for replying.
It’s still showing the excerpt instead of my TSF-Description.

See here for SEO-Description and Excerpt Screenshot in the post:

    Maybe I am missing something?

    Hi @un1verse,

Google has made up its own mind on displaying the description. It sometimes does that when the description field doesn’t fully match the query.
And it’s perfectly sensible in your case, as none of the words you used are found in the description.

To know whether your description has been caught correctly by Google, try this query:
    site:https://example.com/path/to/page/

With that, I know everything’s working as intended.

    Cheers! ??

P.S. You can already start increasing your description lengths up to at least 1800 pixels. TSF is a little late in updating to that standard.

    Hi Sybre

    By checking with
    site:https://example.com/path/to/page/
I noticed, that the correct (my) description is used.

The search in the screenshot brings up a category-entry as result.
Can I control the description for category search results?

    Hi @un1verse,

Do you mean the green link that says:
site > Category > page name

This is outputted because breadcrumbs are enabled.
So, instead of seeing a long “full URL”, I found this to be much neater ??

    Adjusting it
You can adjust the category used by selecting the primary one as shown in the image below.
    TSF primary category selection

    Disabling it
Aside from that, you can see the “full URL” again when you disable all breadcrumbs.
These include the ones from the Schema settings of TSF, as well as any that the theme outputs.
Your theme doesn’t output breadcrumbs, so you’d only have to disable the breadcrumbs from TSF.

    TSF breadcrumbs option

Note that you’ll only see the changes having effect after Google crawls your pages again.
