Google Search Console soft 404

    Google Search console is reporting a “soft 404” error on a page specifically marked as ‘no index’ in my robots.txt file.
    (Google Search)
    Submitted URL seems to be a soft 404
    https://www.asindera.com/index.php/cart/
    (robots.txt)
    Disallow: /index.php/cart/
    What’s the problem?

    Hi,

    Thank you for contacting our support.

    Basically a soft 404 is a page that says not found but responds 200 OK.

    Meaning that it’s not an actual issue. Anyway, you don’t want this page to be visible on search engines as it’s a page with “temporary” content.

    One more thing. It may take several days for search engines to consider your new robots.txt.

    Please wait a few days.

    It was reported as still failing today. I’ll ask it to check again – I’ve confirmed the robots.txt file online and it looks fine.
