Hi @danidub, thanks for reaching out to us with this.

Generally speaking, Wordfence ?wordfence_lh=1&hid=... query string URLs are used by Live Traffic so are normal to see.

However, we usually see themes as the main cause when Google bots start listing them as “legitimate” site pages as you’re seeing. This is usually due to a theme misconfiguration where they’re automatically redirecting any invalid page URLs to the homepage. The expected behaviour when these URLs are visited is to return a blank page.

You may need to consult your theme developer or address any code/plugins that cause this behaviour.

    Thanks,

    Peter.

Hello @wfpeter, thank you for your answer.

I have checked the URLs in my case and they return a blank page as you said (I’m the theme developer ??)

So in my case I will discard the theme cause.

I have investigated more on Google Search Console and found that the URL’s with the wordfence_lh parameter are under Excluded > Crawled — Currently Not Indexed. So they are not being indexed by Google. For some reason they are excluded and I think that’s the expected behavior. Is that right?

    Thank you again!

    Hi @danidub,

You are correct, Google should be excluding these so actually the site behaviour with the blank pages and Google’s behaviour to not index those pages is exactly as you want it.

    Thanks,

    Peter.
