google search console coverage issue with wp-statistics plugin

I have exactly the same problem.

In Google Search Console, I have lots of ‘Server error (5xx)’ for urls like https://mysite/wp-json/wp-statistics/v2/hit?_=1659101503….

It’s seem to be a touble with WordPress REST API but I don’t understand if I have to disable it or not ?

Similar here, in Google Search Console page indexed with Error 403:

https://www.MyDomain.de/wp-json/wp-statistics/v2/hit?_=1664946900&_wpnonce=aa3e263cec&wp_statistics_hit_rest=yes&referred=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.MyDomain.de&exclusion_match=yes&exclusion_reason=CrawlerDetect&track_all=1&current_page_type=search&current_page_id=0&search_query={search_term_string}&page_uri=/?s=search_term_string

Any solution to exclude WPStatistics completely form the GSC ?

WP 6.0.3, PHP 8.0.16, REST-API is enabled

Same here – Google Search Console gives lots of 403-errors with “wp-json/wp-statistics/v2/hit” in it…

Hello,
I fixed the issue myself by adding the following to the robots.txt site file

User-Agent: * 
Disallow: /wp-json/

PS the issue on the Google Search console is still there, I think Google takes a while before updating the console and removing these records, no new record has been added though.

PS I notice I had to submit my update robots.txt file through the Google Search Console, for all the property belonging to that domain (e.g. https://mydomain.it, https://mydomain.it, https://www.mydomain.it, etc…).
