That’s a really good starting point.

Once you have that you can then hook to the wp_head and add your needed tag. You could use something like:

add_action( 'wp_head', 'um_meta_tag' );
function um_meta_tag(){
    echo '<meta>';
}

Do note that you will have to modify the code to suit your needs. ??
