On my wordpress site I have activated the generation of articles in AMP format which must be provided only to mobile devices.
Everything worked until a few days ago.
My problem is that now Google returns the AMP version of the articles in the search results even if the search is done on the desktop. Even worse, opening the search result on desktop, displays the AMP version.
Google should always display the desktop version of articles in search results and redirect to the AMP version only those who are using a mobile device. How can I solve this problem?
    Thank you so much.

  • Ciao @fabioga,

Thank you for creating a support topic, can you please share your site Health using this form privately. So we can further investigate the issue.

Because this sounds an unusual behavior, I have tested on my site and didn’t get an AMP version on my desktop search. Also, I saw that you are using the legacy reader mode, have you tried to use some compatible themes? You can customize it and add some CSS to looks similar to your non-AMP version.

If you have any question, please let me know.

Thank you Fellyph for your prompt interest in my problem.
Fortunately, it appears to have been a temporary Google indexing problem because, in fact, this morning the search results present the normal (non-AMP) page. That’s good. Thanks again.

Do you have Mobile Redirection enabled? If you’ve opted for server-side redirection via add_filter('amp_mobile_client_side_redirection', '__return_false') then the issue may be due to your site’s page caching.
