    i should add that it is in an Avada modal, which uses an iframe.

    client wanted it as a static page rather than as a dialog anyway, so we went with a static page, which cleared it up.

    you should be able to recreate the problem by putting a strong testimonials form with recaptcha in a fusion builder modal dialog. it may be an issue with recaptcha being put in an hidden element with no size, and thus, it tries to make it compact.
