• If you type “prostamax” in google.co.uk we are normally in the top 3 results and it brings us a lot of business.

Our 4.5 star rating built up over the last few years always showed with the search results and definitely contributed to the clicks.

About 1 week ago the star rating has stopped showing.

What do I need to do to get it back?

  • There are a couple of steps in this and it’s not fully in your control.
First of all, your HTML markup should include something called Structured Data. You can test this by feeding your URL into https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool
In your particular case, a lot of information bits show up in the parsed data, so everything seems OK there.
(If it wouldn’t have been OK, then you might need to double check your theme, your plugins, your Custom Post Types and your data in order to make sure that the needed data is included where it should be.

The second part, which you can’t control, is that Google will crawl your site and gather the information, but it’s up to them how much they’re going to trust your data, and exactly what parts of your data they’d display prominently in the search results snippets.
Perhaps some SEO experts could help you with this, but it’s for sure out of scope for the WordPress forums.
