[NSFW] Google rank / position drop 100% since updated wordpress 6.0.3

  • All my websites that have updated to 6.0.3 have all lost google rank and dropped in postion by nearly 100% and some sites have vanished from google search engine.

    My sites that have not yet been updated are fine and have no postion drop.

    I have websites hosted on godaddy that are auto updated to 6.0.3 and I can not roll back on godaddy so all my sites are stuck on a host with no ranbk on google due to the new wordpress version 6.0.3

    This need fixing asap

    Rather than giving a useless link to google, please provide a link to one of your sites that’s OK and a link to one that is not.

    You can only see the rank drop in my google console

    What do you see from the Google search console? I don’t see anything WP related.

    I see on every website of mine that has 6.0.3 the google postion has dropped to near zero.

    Some sites have even vanished from google search engine altogeather.

    This is not effecting yandex.com searh engine or bing.

    Only google.

    On all my sites with 6.0.2 they are fine and not effected at all.

    What does the Google Search console say? Is it reporting errors, etc? Have you tried re-submitting a site map?

    No errors on google , no malware , no black lists.

    Only show position drops , traffic drop and some sites dont appear in google since update.

    Ive tested seo and all looks ok

    No no-index on site all ok

    The problem is all my sites on version 6.0.3 have lost traffic and google rank

    Im in process of migrating my sites on a host were i dont have to use 6.0.3

    Its broke my sites after 10 years of no problems

    Like 20 sites on 6.0.03 all at same time after update dropped position.

    Sites are unrelated to each other and on different servers and ips

    Its the 6.0.3 it will cause problems with anyone on wp

    I’m just a rando web dev and I manage about 20 WordPress websites as a freelancer and over 50 more in my day job for a digital ad agency.

    All of the WordPress websites, except 1, are using WordPress core version 6.0.3 and as I look through Google Search Console for them, I’m not seeing any drop as dramatic as yours (some of them even went up since they’re writing content relevant to the current news cycle).

    I’m not convinced your issue is due to the WordPress security update.

    Though I can see your website uses the All in One SEO plugin and it had updates within the last 3 days. Perhaps consider reaching out to their support team.

    Anecdotally I don’t think this is due to 6.0.3 as checking on my own sites, they show a steady climb.

    However Google did update their algorithm in October to downgrade sites perceived as spam – https://searchengineland.com/google-releases-october-2022-spam-update-388880 – and it’s plausible you were caught up in that.

    while seems plausable . why would google only say all my sites on 6.0.3 are spam and all my sites on 6.0.2 are not spam ?

    also my site with 6.0.3 are not visable anymore in baidu.com since update.

    on different servers and ips and hosts the problem is the same

    6.0.3 is the problem

    I rolled back one of my websites to 6.0.2 as it was on a host that enabled roll backs.

    in just 24 hours the google search results positon is rising back ?

    so on 6.0.3 the positon drops

    on 6.0.2 the position rises back up
