Under Settings > Sharing, I tried to connect my Google Plus account and got the following error:

Something which should never happen, happened. Sorry about that. If you try again, maybe it will work.

    Error code: -32300

It publicizes to my other social media outlets. It used to publicize to Google Plus before the API change I’ve found in other help topics. I disconnected Google+, and checked my Google+ app settings to make sure WordPress or Jetpack aren’t listed. The only thing listed related to my blog is Yoast SEO. When I click the Connect button for Google + from the Sharing Settings in my WordPress, I get the error mentioned above.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Loni

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

Can you please use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information about your site?

    1. Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
    2. Click on the Debug link appearing at the bottom of the page.
    3. Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
    4. Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
    5. Click the “Contact Support” button to send us the debug results privately. It’s best not to post this information on public forums, as it contains private details about your site.

    Thanks!

I’m not getting a link that says click here to contact Jetpack support, but expanding the red banner that says “It looks like your site can not communicate properly with Jetpack” indicates the error is: XML-RPC is not responding correctly ( 404 ), which is #4 on the self-diagnose list. Clicking the provided link does give me a 404, so it looks like I need to contact my web host.

Thanks for leading me in that direction.
