Google Podcasts App problem?

Did anyone find a solution?

I have not had any luck finding a solution either, and the problem is still occurring. :'(

Just tested on brand new Android phone, and this is still not working properly.

When are we going to have a solution?

Thanks for testing this again. We have not been able to consistently reproduce the behavior described. Can you give us additional details about your device — memory capacity etc.

Sure, it’s a brand new moto g6, running Android 8, security patch date Jan1,2019, 3g RAM, 32g ROM, kernel update Jan11, 2019.

Google Podcast version – 1.0.0.200632462 installed Feb 27, 2019

When you hit the play, it goes to Buffering and then finally says “Streaming isn’t available for this episode. Try downloading.

Here’s the screenshot from my phone.

And Google Play Music streams it just fine.

In order to find the problem I’m needing to get some more information from you.

1. What is the name of your podcast?
2. What is the url of your podcast
3. Are you hosting the audio files from your WordPress site, or a third party podcast hosting platform?

Please let me know the answers to these questions, so that I can investigate further.

We host our own audio files. Using the original player.

No issues on any other distribution and it’s only the Google Podcasts app where we have any problems.

Thanks for this info.

We’re investigating how/whether locally hosting your files can lead to this problem with Google Podcasts. I’ve tested two sites so far, and they both play as expected on Google Podcasts, however both sites’ files are hosted externally and not on their local WP site’s server.

Could I ask you to email [email protected] with the subject line Mobile Wallet Marketing Made Easy, I may need to gain access to your site to help test this out.

I’m using the Podlove-Plugin and also host my podcast files locally, with the same issue. Maybe that helps to limit the sources of error.

Jonathan, my show also still does not play in the Google podcasts app. the episodes are not hosted locally but on shoutengine, but we have the same issue. https://wheelbearings.media/

Jonathan, same goes for us. Our show is hosted locally on a DigitOcean server. Podcast plays fine on all podcast apps minus Google Podcasts. It appears in their directory but when you click play it buffers and says it cannot be played.
