Dear Jeg Elementor Theme Support Team,

I’m writing to seek assistance with an accessibility issue affecting my Google Page Speed Insights score (https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-velvetfiles-com-services/93ha7bwur4). The problem appears to be related to the JKit – Off-canvas element/widget.

For context, I’ve successfully resolved this same issue with my other header buttons by adding custom attributes with aria-labels through the ‘link options’ in the Elementor widgets. However, the JKit – Off-canvas widget doesn’t seem to offer this same option.

I’m wondering if you could advise on a potential workaround to include the necessary attribute within this widget without upgrading to Elementor Pro. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Additionally, I’d like to suggest considering the integration of these accessibility features (such as the aria-label tag required by Google Page Speed Insights) as default options in future updates. This would not only improve user experience but also enhance the overall accessibility of your theme.

I’ve attached the Google Page Speed Insights report for your reference.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I look forward to your response.

    Hello @mollyyjane,

We apologize for the delay in our response and the inconvenience you have experienced. Currently, we do not have a feature to add an Aria-Label to that widget. If you want to add it, you will need to manually adjust the code. For example, you can replace the file ../wp-content/plugins/jeg-elementor-kit/class/elements/views/class-off-canvas-view.php with the file at the link below.

We have added an Aria-Label with the value Off Canvas Button to the button in the Off-Canvas widget on that file. We will also include this change in the next update of Jeg Elementor Kit, so you do not need to worry about your changes being lost during the update.

We greatly appreciate your message and suggestions. We will await further updates from you.

    Thank You

I appreciate your commitment to including this change in the next update of Jeg Elementor Kit. It’s great to know that these changes won’t be overwritten next update.

Thanks a ton for your help!

We stumbled across the same issue on our mobile accessibility score (https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-velvetfiles-com-services/ru91egenmg). Turns out the ‘Jkit-nav-logo’ (div.jkit-menu-wrapper > div.jkit-nav-identity-panel > div.jkit-nav-site-title > a.jkit-nav-logo) element on mobile screens is having the same “Links do not have a discernible name” issue. Looks like it may be missing that aria-label attribute too.

Any chance you could point me in the right direction for adding the code to this element? I would like to assign an aria-label on the ‘Jkit-nav-logo’, like you did with the Off-Canvas widget.

It’d be awesome to have both the Off-Canvas and Nav-Logo elements working with accessibility to help maintain our score.

Thanks again, we really appreciate all your help.

    Hello @mollyyjane,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will review the use of the A tag that has not yet included aria-label.

For the aria-label on the logo in the Nav Menu widget, it is not added by default. However, you can add it by configuring the Menu Link option and adding custom attributes to the URL. For more details, please see the image below.

    aria-label|Home

    We hope this answer helps.

    Thank You

really appreciate the instruction and the image you provided – they were incredibly helpful.

I have to admit, I initially overlooked the custom link option within the mobile menu settings, so your guidance was spot-on.

Thanks to your clear explanation, I’ve been able to successfully add the aria-label to the logo in the Nav Menu widget.
