    Greeting to the AIOSEO team,

    I observed that Google is ignoring using the Title I set using AIOSEO but rather using the default page titles.

    I also noticed that the title is not displayed on AIOSEO Details in the list of pages.

    I’m using the code below to set the titles of pages generated from query strings, i don’t know if it could be a problem?

    // Change ERE search browser title
    add_filter("aioseo_title", "change_ere_search_browser_title", 20);
    add_filter("pre_get_document_title", "change_ere_search_browser_title", 20);
    function change_ere_search_browser_title($old_title){ }

    and

    add_filter( 'document_title_parts', 'change_tax_browser_title' );
    function change_tax_browser_title( $title )
    { }

    Kindly assist.

    Warm regards

    Hi @mogeh ,

    Thank you so much for getting in touch.

    Could you please share a bit more details regarding the query strings and URL of the pages (example) you’re referring to?

    I look forward to helping you.

    Hello Sakib and thanks for your interest.

    A little background: I was initially using RankMaths and discovered that neither the Title nor the Description of pages set with the plugin was being used by Google in SERP. When I reached out to the team, I was told that it’s a new trend, that Google auto generates more than 70% of titles and descriptions for pages but i wasn’t convinced.

    Fast forward: I decided to use your plugin, which is so far impressive.

    After setting up and monitoring, i discovered that the description set in the plugin was being used but the title was being ignored.

    I also observed that its a site-wide issue affecting even regular pages.

    Could you please share a bit more details regarding the query strings and URL of the pages (example) you’re referring to? My guess was that since i used the code in my initial question to alter the titles of certain parts of the site, i thought that could’ve been the problem.

    On the home page, below is what is set:

    https://propertymarketplace.com.ng/

    Find property for sale in Nigeria - Property marketplace

    Find property for sale in Nigeria and sell your property in Nigeria, We make it easy to buy property and invest in Nigeria real estate market.

    Below is what is returned:

    Property Marketplace

    Find property for sale in Nigeria and sell your property in Nigeria, We make it easy to buy property and invest in Nigeria real estate market.

    Another page:

    https://propertymarketplace.com.ng/buy-property-in-nigeria/

    Buy property in Nigeria - Find house, flat, land for sale

    Buy property in Nigeria. Browse Nigeria's largest property listings platform for real estate and property deals. House for sale, flat for sale, land for sale

    What’s shown on SERP:

    Buy Property in Nigeria

    Buy property in Nigeria. Browse Nigeria's largest property listings platform for real estate and property deals. House for sale, flat for sale, land for?...

    Thanks so much in advance and let me know if there’s any information from me that will help.

    Hi @mogeh ,

    It’s true that, Google doesn’t have to use the SEO title and description you provide and never has.

    They take what you provide as a suggestion and will return what they think is the best, most relevant title and description based on the term that’s being searched for. This process is completely automated and you can’t force them to display the title and description you want.

    We have an article about this here –

    https://aioseo.com/docs/why-doesnt-the-title-and-description-i-set-appear-in-search-results/

    Google has its official documentation about?this here:

    Google made a change to how they generate titles in August 2021. You can read their announcement here –

    https://developers.google.com/search/blog/2021/08/update-to-generating-page-titles

    However, for your homepage, I can see you’ve set Property Marketplace for your homepage title – https://a.supportally.com/i/JXclm3

    You may try changing the title of your homepage and see if Google updates the same on SERPs.

    I hope that helps! Let me know if you’ve any questions.
