    Hi
I understand that Google will be changing the way we embed their maps on a website and (quote) that the permanently_closed property is deprecated and will be replaced by the busines_status property in Places API and Places Library, Maps Javascript API on May 26, 2021.
I am assuming this will affect the operation of the SiteOrigin Google Maps widget and that we will have to pay for using the maps after the cutoff date.
Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Lawrie

    Thanks for reaching out.

Can you perhaps send a link to the information source? I can see the deprecation notice here, I’m not quite following how it impacts maps usage billing though. As far as I’m aware the $200 free tier is still in effect. https://cloud.google.com/maps-platform/pricing.

    Hi Andrew
Thanks for getting back to me. I have checked the link you provided and it does indeed appear that the $200 free tier is still in effect but that may change May 2021.
I think I’ll just wait and see what happens then.
    Thanks for your time.

    Hi Lawrie

    Thanks for your reply.

From what I can see, the usage and billing portion of the Maps API is the same. If you notice any problems or if any questions arise, please, let us know.

    Cheers for now ??

    Andrew
