    Hello,

I am having troubles with Directorist and Google Maps.
It was working fine until a few days ago thought.

When adding a new listing, the map is not displayed anymore (despite correct settings).
Instead of seeing the maps, there is a blank space with a ‘Delete Marker’ button inside.

When clicking on the ‘delete Marker’ button, the user is sent out of the listing (to the previous page).
This is happening both in an new listing and in editing an existing listing.

If the user posts the listing anyway, there is no map enbedded.

Until a few days ago, when typing the name of a city in the Map’s address field, there was some suggestions and it was working perfectly well. There is no typing suggestion anymore.

Are you aware of this issue?

    Many thanks

    Oliver

  • I had the very same issue. check your directory map settings and make sure that there is a default location set. It seems to throw an error if there is default lat and long.

    *no def lat and long

    Hello Jason,
    Thanks for your message.
Indeed I’ve noticed that having no default location set was throwing an error.
The default marker of this default location showing on the map (when creating a new listing) is not important and will not be shown on the listing anyway after it is published.

But the problem I had was different and I solved it. It was nothing to do with Directorist directly.

The map was not displayed because of a badly translated string. I use Poedit to translate the strings, and I did translate the strings related to front-end only. One of the strings is ‘You can drag the marker to your desired place to place a marker’.
And I did translated it in French but with a french word using a ‘ which caused an error, as ‘ is used to open and close some code line.

After days of searching the cause a friend of mine found it. Removing this translation solved my issue.
