Events Manager looks like the sweetest events plugin available, BUT there is a major issue on my site with the google maps API. The map is not visible on the front end. I’ve disabled ALL plugins (except Events Manager) and I’m using the unmodified TwentySixteen theme. In addition, I’ve cleared my browser/s cache/s and restarted everything.

In the back end, EM produces the map correctly, and everything is fine, which demonstrates the API key works with EM. In the front end, I get a nearly invisible “Loading Map…” message on page load which disappears and leaves a large blank space where the map should be.

The rest of the page is visible as expected, but where the map should be I get only a empty page area. There are no javascript errors visible via chrome, or firefox, on page load. No further message or error.

This is a problem, do you have any helpful suggestions…?

  • Sometimes a link to a website is helpful… but if you don’t feel comfortable with that no worries.

Ok.. just out of curiosity.. per chance you have in settings for the Map size… it set with percentages.

    If so see this thread…

    hi @robswaimea,

I hear you with the site-link, but I’m working locally (offline), so that’s not so easy. Your suggestion (and link to related thread) was correct.

    Event Manager Settings/Options:
      Formatting:
        Maps:
          Default map width: 500px
          Default map height: 300px

    Works perfectly, many thanks!

I am not part of support.. just some dude…

Glad you got it sorted out.
I would suggest. in the long run, that you use the CSS the other fellow posted (in the link I provided) to make the Map responsive… ie with percentages.

    Cheers.
