Google Maps Embedding No Longer Working – API Key Issue
-
Google Maps was working on the following page for years without any problems. It is embedded to the bottom of this URL:
https://www.bromptons.net/kensington-london-contact-office/
Now, as you can see, it shows an error message:
“This page can’t load Google Maps correctly.”
We understand we need to get an API key from Google Cloud. So we have now obtained a key from our account.
I will use “KEYHERE” in place of the actual key below.
We have added this key to the URL trying different variations. For example:
https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?key=KEYHERE&?q=Bromptons+Solicitors,+Kensington+High+Street,+London&hl=en&ll=51.49982,-0.197153&spn=0.015709,0.049567&sll=52.8382,-2.327815&sspn=7.808158,25.378418&oq=bromptons+solicitors&hnear=Bromptons+Solicitors,+219+Kensington+High+St,+London+W8+6BD,+United+Kingdom&t=m&z=15&iwloc=A
However, no matter where we put the ?key=KEYHERE variable, we are still being presented with your error message.
It is only through this URL structure we can add Google Maps to our page, as we are using a WordPress plugin.
Please can somebody advise how we may use the following URL with the aforementioned API Key – or any other fix – so the map displays correctly:
Thanks very much!
