  • Hey @iansimpao and sorry for the issue here with maps!

Sometimes the Google Maps API is a little off in the way it reads a venue’s location on the site from how it does on Google Maps app.

Have you tried setting up your own Google Maps API? If not, please check out the instructions here and see if it helps make a difference:

    Thanks!

Hi Geoff. Sorry for the delayed reply, I tried putting in the API but it broke the plugin, but I tried doing it again now and it’s working already I think. But the map is still off in the way it reads the venue’s location, so there’s no difference with the API. Any other ideas in terms of how to fix this?

Basically it can’t be fixed. Unfortunately Google Maps sometimes shows different locations for search terms than it does for API requests. I don’t know why they do this but they do. And the only people that can fix this is Google themselves. If they ever do fix it though your site will just automatically benefit and start showing the right location, no intervention on your part needed.

Our Pro version does allow you to input lat/lng coordinates in addition or in place of an address. If this is a huge deal to you you might checkout Events Calendar PRO.

    Cheers!

Hi Brook, alright, thanks! I understand. We’ll consider the pro version too.

If you have several clients with different addresses, how do you set different Google Map API.
I tried doing that, and it simply didn’t work at all…..

@bloohair, aren’t you able to set up any number of Google Map API keys?

    Nope, not a sausage.

I think it’s a Google Map thing, not your plugin. I will be contacting Google when I get a chance.
