  • I am having the same problem. The workaround I am using is to embed the google map in each event – but I would prefer to have the map display from the api code.

I played and fixed mine myself. In the end, the fix for me was simple – I went into the plugin settings and under the tab “Viewing Events” I scrolled to the very bottom and followed it to get the API key, pasted it in and it now works.

However from reading above, I can see some already had an API key and it was not working. In my instance that box was blank and it worked.

Benjamin, it has now been 2 weeks since I first posted and 1 week since I sent you the login details. Are you working on this???

tobyh5 has solved the problem. The rest, as I did, thought putting the API Key in the Theme Options panel would suffice. The API Key must be placed in the Settings panel of the Plugin under Events. Get a regular browser API Key and copy and paste the code and it will work.

Following this thread, as I also have the same issue. I’ve entered my API key in the settings panel, and in fact the API key is never passed as a parameter in the Maps script tag when viewing the page source. There’s just some simple bug that’s preventing the pasted API key from even being included in the map call.

Since there hasn’t been much response here from the devs, I may just jump in and fix it on my local install (rather than waiting on a new version). If I do, I’ll post my fix here for the thread.

That’d be great if you could create a fix, I’m waiting to launch a new site but I don’t want to do so if it still has the mapping problem.

@grex22 – Please send us details of the fix if it works for you, I’m sure we will all be most appreciative.

Update — After diving into my particular issue a bit more, I’ve found that my problem was caused by my theme loading a Google map API call *before* A1EC’s call. THis causes the map to break and not display properly. If I switch to a different theme, the map loads fine. It may be worth checking for the other folks in this thread that the issue actually does lie in A1EC and not a plugin / theme conflict.

In my case, it seems like my theme with Visual Composer installed is causing the issue. VC loads in Google Mapping APIs even if you use them on the page or not, it seems.

Thanks for the response, this is not the case in my theme as when I changed to Twentysixteen the error was still there. Come on Benjamin, please fix this!!

I’ve been using time.ly since it came out and their customer support has always been terrible. I was trying to avoid the hassle of switching to another solution, installing, setting up, styling, etc, but at this point I’m ready to leave time.ly for good.

This is unacceptable… The plugin rarely has worked consistently, some or other issue is always popping up with every update, and well, waiting over a week for a response from the developer and then a couple more and still no solution make me look like an idiot to my client, so enough…

I’ll be switching to this solution which has been recommended to me by other devs and has great ratings: https://codecanyon.net/item/eventon-wordpress-event-calendar-plugin/1211017?s_rank=1

It seems that this issue occurs only on certain sites, not all, so we are still working on it. I have created a public bug, please vote, subscribe and comment here: https://ideas.time.ly/ideas/CAL-I-381. Resolving this topic as we’ll keep you posted at that link.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

    Thanks,
    Ben

    Hi all.

Most of the Google Maps problems are caused by these issues:

    – API key is configured incorrectly (Authorized referrers list is not correctly set);
    – Google Maps JS is being loaded twice in the same page.

If you cannot identify the issue, please send your calendar URL to [email protected]

    Thanks!

    Hello!

    Thank’s

    Resolved! Sorry ??
